Hallo,

Nadat ik de laatste 2 jaar behoorlijk aan het experimenteren ben geweest met de Nodo wil ik iets definitiefs gaan opzetten.
Ik ben de laatste tijd druk aan verbouwen geweest, daarbij heb ik door het hele huis utp kabel getrokken en hier wil ik gebruik van gaan maken in combinatie met de Nodo.
De RF kanalen vind ik toch iets te onbetrouwbaar, al wil ik het ernaast nog steeds blijven gebruiken om alle kabels uit het zicht te houden.
Ik heb een globaal schema gemaakt van hoe ik ongeveer wil gaan organiseren:


Ik denk dat ik ga kiezen voor een RS485 verbinding met MAX-485 IC's, deze staat bekend betrouwbaarder te zijn dan de I2C verbinding(met range extender) die standaard bij de Nodo geleverd word.

Is het mogelijk dit op deze manier te realiseren?
Graag hoor ik jullie mening en of er misschien nog dingen beter/goedkoper kunnen.

We zijn bezig om communicatie via ethernet en via andere RF frequenties te laten lopen, zal niet lang meer op zich laten wachten. Jouw oplossing kan uiteraard ook, maar ik weet niet in hoeverre dat makkelijk in te passen is in de code op dit moment.

Ethernet is op zichzelf ook geen verkeerde verbinding, maar dit is wel gelijk een 8 draads verbinding. Dat is behoorlijk meer dan 2 draads natuurlijk.

Ik lees overal over het internet dat i2c is bedoeld voor hele korte afstanden maar als ik het hier zo zie moet dat ook over grotere afstanden kunnen (20m) en dan hoef ik geen code te wijzigen.
Blijft afwegen.
Voorlopig probeer ik hier de komende week de verbouwing af te ronden om vervolgens weer eens wat aandacht te kunnen schenken aan de Nodo. Nu draai ik nog versie 3.0 dus echt up to date ben ik ook niet meer.
